As a professional tango dancer, Azul Ibañez Fernández has dedicated her artistic career to representing her Argentinean roots around the world. With a foundation in ballet, jazz, and aerial dance, Azul has taken part in numerous theatrical musicals in Corrientes—a street renowned as the premier theater district in the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina—and has travelled throughout Argentina on various tours. Accompanied by important tango orchestras and musicians, she has danced to honor prominent celebrations throughout the city of Buenos Aires, such as La Noche de los Museos, The World Tango Festival & World Cup, and the National Day of Tango in addition to various other festivals. She has also been on television shows and publicity campaigns for a number of brands, including Coca Cola, Visa, Sheraton, Hilton, and Mercedes Benz to name a few.
Her performances span the Americas, Asia, and Europe. Most notable locations include, the Italian Riviera, Costa Brava in Spain, the French Riviera, in addition to main cities within China, Japón, Qatar, Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Mexico, Spain, France, Portugal and Italy among others. Her last theater season was "Afrotango" at Thalia Theater in New York City.
In the United States, Azul was recruited by the Argentinean Embassy in Washington D.C. to represent traditional Argentinean tango for the last 3 years. Other notable presentations include, the United States Department of Agriculture, the United Nations, the 9th Avenue International Food Festival, and NYC's Hispanic Day Parade (along Fifth Avenue) in Manhattan.
Two of Azul’s most recent theatrical presentations of the last year, include her participation as part of Hector Zaraspe’s Zaraspe Dance Troupe in the world premiere of the ballet Estancias in Oregon, accompanied by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra and a tour throughout China in Polly Feldman’s Glamour Tango.
Azul continues teaching Argentinean tango in New York City and directing her dance school located in Buenos Aires for the last 15 years.

Azul IF es bailarina profesional y profesora de Tango argentina. Se ha destacado bailando importantes roles en diferentes espectáculos en Buenos Aires y varias ciudades alrededor del mundo. Como bailarina, ha formado parte de varias compañías internacionales de Ballroom en la Riviera Italiana, la Costa Brava española, la Costa Azul francesa y Portugal.
Así como ha realizado giras por USA , China, Japón y Europa.
Como invitada especial también ha participado realizando exhibiciones de tango en la Embajada Argentina con sede en Washington DC
y en Doha, Qatar .
También ha formado parte de presentaciones televisivas y publicitarias para marcas reconocidas como Coca Cola y Visa en diversas oportunidades.
En el año 2015 ha formado parte de la compañía "Zaraspe Dance Troup" estrenando coreografías del Maestro Hector Zaraspe en Estados Unidos. Su última temporada teatral ha sido "Afrotango" en el Teatro Thalia de New York.

Por otro lado, en su rol de profesora, Azul ha enseñado por muchos años en Buenos Aires en sitios emblemáticos como el Museo casa de Carlos Gardel en el barrio del Abasto de Buenos Aires acompañando a su Maestro Luis Boccia quien ha sido el profesor y partenaire de Madonna en el film “Evita” dirigido por Alan Parker.
Sus presentaciones ofrecen un vasto repertorio en los que demuestra técnica y sentimiento pasando por el estilo más tradicional llegando a incorporar elementos más modernos propios de los nuevos estilos.
También dirige su propia academia de danza en Luján, Buenos Aires desde el año 2001 y hoy continúa ofreciendo seminarios y clases especiales.
About Ruben
Rubén Porto is a traditional Argentinean tango dancer born in the neighborhood of Caballito in Buenos Aires and lived a large part of his life in Monserrat—area renowned for its tango culture. Admirer of tango music and compositions as a cultural expression, he has dedicated his life to the dance and continuing with his father’s tango legacy.
He has participated in diverse exhibitions of Tango Salón and has taught tango to various students of all ages. In the last few years, Rubén began working with Azul Ibañez Fernández with whom he now maintains an artistic career. Together they have danced at the Argentinean Embassy in Washington D.C., the United Nations, the United States Department of Agriculture, Saint Peter’s Cultural Center of Manhattan, Argentine Cultural Center, Long Beach Public Library in New York, and festivals in New York City, such as the NYC's Hispanic Day Parade (along Fifth Avenue) and the Ninth Avenue International Food Festival, among various others.

Additionally, he has done presentations at various milongas, restaurants, and events accompanied by renowned tango musicians. He has participated in events in diverse cities of the United States, including Baltimore, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, Florida, New Jersey, and New York to name a few.
His last 2016 tour included Argentina, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal. Also his most recent theater season was "Afrotango" at Thalia Theater in New York City. In 2017 he was touring China, Japan and USA.

As a cultural activity, alongside teaching, Ruben has been dedicated to organizing a traveling milonga named Hansen Milonga through which he shares his musical taste with a special selection of traditional and contemporary artists. It has successfully taken place in various cities throughout the United States. As a Tango DJ he works with the nickname of "Porteño Crónico".
Rubén Porto es bailarín de Tango tradicional argentino nacido en el barrio de “Caballito” de Buenos Aires quien vivió gran parte de su vida en Monserrat, cuna del tango. Amante de la música y las composiciones del tango como expresión cultural se ha dedicado a bailar y completar las colecciones musicales de su padre.

As tango couple have shared many scenes in the city of New York, Washington DC, Baltimore, Boston and Philadelphia, have been invited to participate in important festivals and special events for the Argentina Embassy in Washington DC, United Nations (UN), the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington DC, the Saint Peter’s Cultural Center of Manhattan, the Argentine Cultural Center, Long Beach Public Library in New York, the festivals of the city of New York as the Fifth Avenue Hispanic parade and Ninth Avenue International Food Festival, among others. They also act in various places as milongas and restaurants accompanied by famous and featured tango musicians as the New York Tango Trio, international singer Mariela Marco and Maestro Guillermo Vaisman director of the UN choir.
To this day, Azul and Ruben are still dancing
representing the Tango. They recently tour Argentina, Spain, Italy, France and Portugal. Also their most recent ltheater season was "Afrotango" at Thalia Theater in New York City.
They also were touring China, Japan and USA.
As a special cultural activity also organize their milonga called "Hansen Milonga" where are shown tango movies and offers a special selection of traditional and contemporary music.
They also continue the task of forming and developing dancers in the area of traditional tango. They have been responsible for teaching a lot of students of different levels who has come to learn this beautiful and passionate Argentine social dance.
This couple, now offers workshops and classes at the distinguished school of tango "Dardo Galletto Studios" in the heart of Manhattan and other dance studios in the area of US while conducting their own dance school in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
As dancers, their shows offer a wide repertoire which invite you to enjoy the art and feelings of the traditional Argentine tango, as well as other own modern elements of newer styles for the stage.

Como pareja de tango han compartido numerosos escenarios en la ciudad de Nueva York, Washington DC, Baltimore, Boston y Filadelfia, han sido invitados a participar de importantes festividades y eventos especiales para la Embajada Argentina en Washington DC,, las Naciones Unidas (ONU), el Departamento de Agricultura de Estados Unidos en Washington DC, el Saint Peter’s Cultural Center of Manhattan, el Argentine Cultural Center, Long Beach Public Library en New York, los festivales de la ciudad de Nueva York como el desfile de la Hispanidad por la Quinta Avenida y el Festival Internacional gastronómico de la Novena Avenida, entre otros. También actúan en diversos lugares de tango como milongas, galas corporativas y eventos especiales acompañados por famosos y destacados músicos de tango como el New York Tango trío, la cantante internacional Mariela Marcó y el Maestro Guillermo Vaisman director del coro de la ONU.
Hasta hoy, Azul y Rubén continúan bailando en representación del tango. Su último tour ha incluido paises como Argentina, España, Francia, Italia y Portugal.
